The 1983 science fiction techno-thriller, WarGames stars Matthew Broderick as a high schooler who unwittingly hacks into a United States military supercomputer programmed to predict and execute nuclear war against the Soviet Union. Nominated for three Academy Awards, this family friendly film reminded audiences that “the only winning move is not to play.”

This film is presented as part of the summer screening series, Seeing Red: Cold War Blockbusters of the 1980s.
